Death: The Ultimate Gift (Ni’mah) from God

Most people see death as the greatest tragedy. How can such a tragedy be a blessing from God?

Despite the negative light that death is usually viewed with, it is a marvelous favor of God. It is the means for us to finally meet with our Most Merciful Creator, to finally get to see Him after experiencing all bounties he showers upon us in this temporal world. Furthermore, death is the gateway to paradise and eternal bliss.

These favors are further amplified for those of us who are old or oppressed and find it too difficult to live a comfortable life. It is a means for them to escape the harsh conditions of life.

Also, for those who are oppressed, not only is death a means for them to escape the harsh realities of lifeI, but it is also a place where justice is served to the utmost degree.

Now, let’s consider the alternative. What would happen if death did not exist?

People would continue to age to the point where life would be intolerable for them. Also, with the constant births, the earth would be too overpopulated to accommodate the large number of people.

These points, of course, are for the believers. As for those who refuse to accept the truth, death is the beginning of eternal torment.
